Divya is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician. She received her bachelor's degree at the University of Rochester with a major in Biology and a minor in World Religious studies. She then took a few years away from schooling by joining the Peace Corps where she volunteered as a science and literacy teacher at a rural high school in the South Pacific. Upon returning to the US, she received her master's degree in biomedical science with a research focus in immunology and Chagas disease at the University of New Mexico and then went on to medical school at UNM. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Sharma has a passion for high clinical quality, population health, addiction recovery support, gender affirming care, advance care planning, and helping people achieve their health and well-being goals through physical activities, social interactions, and community connections. She considers it a privilege to be a primary care physician and is committed to providing high quality care in partnership with her patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Sharma enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, hiking, traveling, and staying actively involved in issues that impact how we care for our planet and those who may be far less privileged than her.
